Care Instructions
At Shuchi Man, we curate garments that are designed to be cherished and worn for years. A little extra care goes a long way in preserving their beauty, colour, texture, and fit.
Washing & Cleaning
- Hand wash is always the gentlest option and helps extend the life of any garment.
- For our festive and embellished collections, we strongly recommend dry cleaning only to protect delicate embroidery, embellishments, mirror work, sequins, and special fabrics.
- For everyday wear garments, a gentle machine wash is perfectly suitable. Use a mild detergent and a delicate cycle whenever possible.
- Wash garments in cold or lukewarm water. Avoid hot water as it may affect colour and fabric longevity.
Sort Before You Wash
- Always wash dark colours separately from light colours and whites.
- New garments, especially richly dyed fabrics, may release a small amount of excess colour during the first few washes. This is normal.
Natural Fabrics & Wrinkles
- Fabrics such as cotton, linen, and other natural fibres naturally develop wrinkles and creases.
- Even after ironing, some creasing may reappear with wear. This isn't a flaw—it's part of the fabric's natural character and charm.
- We encourage you to embrace these imperfections; they are what make natural fabrics beautiful and authentic.
Shrinkage Is Normal
- Natural fabrics may experience minor shrinkage (approximately 1–2 inches) after the first wash.
- Don't worry—we've accounted for this during garment construction to ensure a comfortable fit after washing.
- Once the initial shrinkage occurs, the garment generally stabilizes.
Drying & Ironing
- Dry garments in the shade whenever possible to help preserve colours.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight while drying.
- Iron on the appropriate heat setting for the fabric.
- Turn embroidered or embellished garments inside out before ironing.
A Few Extra Tips
- Avoid bleach, harsh detergents, and strong chemical cleaners.
- Do not wring delicate garments aggressively.
- Store festive garments folded in a cool, dry place.
- Ensure garments are completely dry before storing them.
- For embroidered pieces, avoid hanging them for long periods, as the weight of the embellishments may affect their shape over time.
